Natalie McLean
Minister of Ministries
Dr. Natalie V. McLean, a proud native of Greensboro, NC, has embarked on an academic journey marked by remarkable achievements. She earned her Bachelor of Science from Bennett College, her Master of Science from North Carolina A&T State University, her Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, and her Doctor of Ministry from Hood Theological Seminary. Her doctoral work, a testament to her intellectual curiosity, delved into the intriguing topic of “Transitional Wisdom: Discovery and Assessment of Oral and Written Values Transmitted Between Baby Boomers and Generation Y and the Effect on Ethical Behavior.”
Dr. McLean recently resigned from the chaplaincy of Bennett College after 21 years (and four months) of service. While at Bennett, Chaplain McLean was a guest lecturer and workshop facilitator in Mate Selection and Marriage, Character Education, Leadership, Stewardship, Forgiveness, and Prayer. A natural extension of her ministry at Bennett included teaching New Student Orientation and Women in Ministry and Justice. Additionally, she has developed and offered a course entitled Church and Entrepreneurship. Chaplain McLean established A Peaceful Pause: 20 Minutes for Meditation, Affirmation, and Prayer, is the author of “A Word In Season,” a collection of reflections, and provides "Mindfulness Moments" through a quote, a question, and a comment.
Dr. Natalie McLean continues to serve her community in various capacities. She is the Assistant Pastor at Providence Baptist Church, Greensboro, NC, and holds the Director of Christian Education position. As the coordinator for the Gathering of the FIRSTFRUITS Women's Ministry, she plays a pivotal role in empowering women within the church. Her dedication to community service is further exemplified by her position on the Providence Educational and Community Services Board of Directors.
Dr. Natalie McLean is passionate about her work on campus as an adjunct professor, in the church, and within the community. She firmly believes in a holistic approach to spiritual growth and education when she states that academic achievement without cultivating social skills (respect for self and others), spiritual awareness, and the enhancement of personal grace is a grave disservice.
Dr. McLean enjoys spending time with family and friends and taking nature photographs.
