Providence Educational and Community Services Foundation

Our Foundation

In 2020, the Providence Educational and Community Services (PECS) Foundation was formed as a 501(c)(3) organization. Managed by a board of directors, including ex-officio members such as the pastor, deacon, and trustee chairs, the Foundation provides educational enrichment and community support programs that promote independence while protecting church assets.

Our premier initiative is the CDF Freedom Schools® program, a high-energy summer literacy and enrichment program serving K-5 children from local schools. Operating five days a week for six weeks each summer, the program offers:

  • Integrated reading curriculum with culturally relevant materials
  • Daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks at no cost
  • Weekly field trips and enrichment activities
  • Parent workshops and engagement opportunities
  • Take-home libraries with 30 books per student

Since its inception, our Freedom Schools program has impacted nearly 150 children and their families, demonstrating significant growth in reading levels and academic achievement. Community involvement remains strong, with church members and local volunteers serving as guest readers and program supporters.
