Our spirited services are full of the vitality traditional to the African-American worship tradition and experience. Established in 1866 by newly freed slaves, our congregation embodies a legacy of resilience and progress. In 1875, we achieved a historic milestone by constructing the first brick church for Black Christians in North Carolina.
