Our spirited services are full of the vitality traditional to the African-American worship tradition and experience. Established in 1866 by newly freed slaves, our congregation embodies a legacy of resilience and progress. In 1875, we achieved a historic milestone by constructing the first brick church for Black Christians in North Carolina.

Bible Study

At Providence Baptist Church, Bible study is the cornerstone of our Christian education program. Every Wednesday at 6pm, our hybrid Bible study allows members to dive deep into scripture and its relevance to daily life.
